New Town recently was mentioned under St. Charles, MO for one of the top 100 places in America to raise a family in the book, Best Places to Raise Your Family by Bert Sperling and Peter Sander.

The book highlighted the top 100 places to raise a family in the United States. The factors considered when selecting the communities included standard of living, education, health & safety, lifestyle and population profiles.

After careful consideration, St. Charles, MO was selected as one of the top 100 communities. The authors were particularly impressed with the historic interest, strong employment, arts & culture and The New Town at St. Charles.

According to the Best Places to Raise Your Family, "New Town is a planned community of 4,300 residences and self-contained services aesthetically designed to blend old styles with new functionality around a set of canals almost European in character. Another larger phase is scheduled to follow …. The New Town development in St. Charles is also worth a close look."

"This information is particularly relevant for people when they are looking to purchase a home," says Greg Whittaker, president of Whittaker Homes. "These authors spent considerable time and money studying the best places to raise your family. It’s quite phenomenal that St. Charles, MO was selected and that the only residential development highlighted was The New Town at St. Charles."

Ultimately, New Town – a $1.5 billion project – will be a thriving town with approximately 5,700 residences in ten phases, with a carefully planned mix of homes in addition to a proposed town center and four neighborhood centers.
